MySQL vs PostgreSQL

Can I install the mySQL clients + server if I already have a PostgreSQL client + server on my machine or will there be a conflict somewhere?

I'm a newbie at databases (and its inner workings) but I wanted to learn PostgreSQL (as suggested by a friend) for my web development studies. Treehouse offers only mySQL courses (which is fine since they're supposed to have the almost similar functionalities and syntax, just need to refer to the documentation).

I just wanted to clear that up. I want to know the basic inner workings of databases (whether mySQL or PostgreSQL) and Treehouse has nice courses built into it.

Hi Rey,

You can install them both.
