The Nav. text on the website is highlighted in white even though I declared the background color pink. The background around the text changes but the text is still highlighted white.

Are you saying that you have white text and a pink background but you wanted pink text?
You have to change the color property if you want to change the text color.

The color of the text itself is fine but the background of the text is white and the background of the whole block is pink. How do I make the background of the text the same as the rest of the background?
