Need help with this SQL query

Challenge task 1. thank you

In the library database there's a patrons table listing all the users of the library. The columns are id, first_name, last_name, address, email, library_id and zip_code.

Generate a list of strings that are in the following format: Andrew Chalkley andrew@teamtreehouse.com. Concatenate the first name, last name and email address for all users.

Alias it to to_field. This will be used in the "To" field in email marketing.

HERE IS MY ANSWER. I cant figure out. thanks

Hey Geovani,

Many thing are missing from your query:

  1. The email "format" is not correct. Your: andrew@treehouse.com, but the challenge is "<"email">" (between angle brackets).
  2. You have to use "to_field" alias in the email column

Hints:

  • The correct email format: || "<" || email || ">"
  • Using alias: AS to_field

Part of solution ...first_name || ' ' || last_name || ' ' || "<" || email || ">" AS to_field...

You can to practice in SQL Playground, what is highly recommended, because you can to try anything :)

You're part way there, but you need a few more elements. Take another look at the format: Andrew Chalkley <andrew@teamtreehouse.com>. Note that there is a space and an angle bracket before the email, and a closing angle after it. You'll need to include those in your concatenated string.

Then, remember that the instructions asked you to "Alias it to to_field."

Add these to your query and you'll pass the challenge.
