New Ghost Button Design Trend

I'm loving the new look of the forum and the ghost buttons. For those who don't know what that is, below are a couple images, and of course a link discussing what ghost buttons are, their pros, cons, etc.

Feel free to start a discussion about how you feel about this new design trend, or even how to implement them in your next project.

I think the last image might be more of a true example, but it looks like content tags were also given a redesign. It's a much cleaner look, I think.

I'm not sure if I'd call a every button without a background a ghost button. I think that term makes the most sense in the context of buttons on top of image backgrounds.

I like the way the Treehouse use uses minimalist buttons and links for most UI elements.

Good point.

I think the design look more clean and light. I like that.

As we know the flat design is the trending design now, people try to update their design now. :)

It sure is, and I think it's great. The new Treehouse Android app looks pretty awesome as well.

I'm not an android user, but it looks much the same as an iOS treehouse application. Great job to Teamtreehouse.

By the way, Is it working on mobile or is it just working on Tablet in android? In iOS, it's only an iPad app, so I can't download it to my iPhone at all. Also, it would be great if we can access the forum from this app.

Apparently with iOS development there are universal apps and separate ones. I think the opinions vary about the benefits between the two choices, but some say it allows developers to be more creative by creating a device-specific app — and perhaps a more customized experience. To answer your question, I think they are working on an app for the iPhone.

Oh, and here's the list of planned features for the Android app. I'm just going to guess some of those are scheduled for the iOS apps as well. I'd also love to see the forum app included, because for some reason copying and pasting (links for instance) on my Nexus devices don't always work properly.
