Not sure extra values are being allowed

The Challenge says:

"Your regular expression matches CSS hexadecimal color values, but also matches other values. See if you can limit your regex to meet the requirements."

I am not sure of the extra values being allowed, 0-9 and A-F. I only am shown results when expected 7 chars are typed. Any thoughts?

app.js
// Type inside this function
function isValidHex(text) {
  var hexRegEx = /\#[A-F0-9]{6}/i; //new RegExp
  return hexRegEx.test(text);
}

const hex = document.getElementById("hex");
const body = document.getElementsByTagName("body")[0];

hex.addEventListener("input", e => {
  const text = e.target.value;
  const valid = isValidHex(text);
  if (valid) {
    body.style.backgroundColor = "rgb(176, 208, 168)";
  } else {
    body.style.backgroundColor = "rgb(189, 86, 86)";
  }
});

Nice job Robert figuring it out. I just got your code to pass just adding a $ to the end to only allow 7 characters total. Without that the screen would stay green after entering more than 7 characters.
