PHP environment problem

After I install the PHP environment (MAMP) in my PC, the apache server does not start. Some times it give me the port 80 error message and some times it doesn't. Please help me fix this problem.

What is the error you are getting? As in the exact message.

jack AM, MAMP server suppose to start the Apache when I open MAMP. Instead it keeps loading and loading. some time it gives me an error that says Apache server needs to open port 80 but port 80 is used by another program. I try changing the port but did not work.
