php login/registration system

I am looking to learn php login/registration system . Any good source from where i can learn this.

at risk of peddling heresies, I think one of the Lynda courses may cover login (see here ). I think you can get a trial period at Lynda for free. But a password is likely going to involve sessions, salting and hashing (and related database storage) and probably https.
