PHP Server Handles PHP Code in More Than Just .PHP

The correct answer I believe can be handled in both the .php as well as the .html. Recall that in HTML files although it probably is not best practice, one could drop <?php ?> inside. See: http://php.about.com/od/learnphp/qt/php_with_html.htm

As such I believe the answer should be C) Both of them

By default, the Apache web server is not set up to interpret PHP code in .html files. It would show as raw code, not as PHP output. You have to specifically configure the server to accomplish that, like the example below:

.htaccess file

// Enables php interpretation in .html files
AddHandler php-script .html
