Placing Section Tags

Can someone possible let me know why the placement of my section tags are not passing the challenge?

Thank you,

Devin

Hey Devin,

In the challenge it asks you to put the <header> tag around just the ul, h1 and p elements, it seems you wrapped your <header> around all the content. Try ending your <header> tag after the first <p> element. Then moving your <section> element after the <header> element ends and before the <footer> elements begin.

So something like this

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <link href="styles.css" rel="stylesheet">
    <title>My Portfolio</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <header>
    <ul>
      <li><a href="#">About</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Work</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Contact</a></li>
    </ul>
    <h1>My Web Design &amp; Development Portfolio!</h1>
    <p>A site featuring my latest work.</p>
    </header>
    <section>
    <h2>Welcome</h2>
    <p>Fusce semper id ipsum sed scelerisque. Etiam nec elementum massa. Pellentesque tristique ex ac ipsum hendrerit, eget feugiat ante faucibus.</p>
    <ul>
      <li><a href="#">Recent project #1</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Recent project #2</a></li>
      <li><a href="#">Recent project #3</a></li>
    </ul>
    </section>
    <footer>
    <p>&copy; 2017 My Portfolio</p>
    <p>Follow me on <a href="#">Twitter</a>, <a href="#">Instagram</a> and <a href="#">Dribbble</a></p>
    </footer>
  </body>
</html>

Hope this helps,

Rob

Hi Robert,

This still will not pass the challenge. I even tried coping your code directly and organizing the tags and i'm still getting an error. The error message also has a typo in it so i'm wondering if there is something wrong with the compiler at this point. It's a pretty simple challenge to pass it seems so i'm not sure whats going on.

You might be right, or my previous code was just crazily indented since tab wasn't working for me. So I just did the challenge again and updated my exact code I used to pass the challenge you can try copy and pasting my code again. The code that I tried and pass is above in my answer, I updated it. Good luck and sorry for the the mistake.
