Publishin Treehouse content on Github

Hi all

I am following Treehouse's Android courses and trying to implement its projects in my local environment. I want to create some repositories and store this projects on Github. Does that cause any copyright problems ? I already saw that some content published on Github but i just want to make sure it wont cause any problem.

Thanks !

I think if you're following along, coding your TH, and pushing to github, you'll be just fine. Treehouse understands being an educator that students will have their own version of a treehouse project.

Where you might get into trouble is when what you're doing starts to feel a little funny, like passing off a TTH project you coded as your own, unique, original project, or trying to sell your project, or somehow profit by directly copying the work or code you created with treehouse.

In other words, be open and honest with your work, and you'll be fine - but don't be shy about saying "I made this at treehouse!" and linking back to your github repo. That's free advertising, and the best kind for treehouse.

Note: I am in no way a lawyer, believe me LOL! If you're really concerned, seek legal advice. I'm just speaking practically, and in general terms. I've been with treehouse long enough to know they're good people, just be respectful.

Thanks for the Answer Kevin. That is why i am asking this question. For "Being respectul". In that case, i think adding a simple read me file with proper links to my Github repo which explains that i am making it at Treehouse and would be fine.

A readme file and clear line or page on your website that specifies where some of your content comes from... should cover you. :-)

I think so too Mustafa. Just by asking the question, means you care enough to not do something you shouldn't.

So, i added a simple read me file that says i am coding this project via Treehouse Android Courses and i think that will be fine. Thanks for answering my question :)
