Question about the filled in circle

I can't display the numbered lines of codes as numbers, nor the filled in circle. I forgot, but what does the filled in circle indicate again? And how would I be able to switch the configuration so that the numbered lines including those circles to be displayed? Thank you!

With IBAction and IBOutlet the filled in circle means that its connected to the story board correctly. An empty circle would mean that it's not yet connected. Hope this is what you meant!
