can't seem to figure the appending and removing node aspect out. anyone with linkes to resources i could check out? and can anyone help me with this?1

var firstListItem = document.getElementById('first');
myList.removeChild(firstListItem);

Treehouse Moderator 91,253 PointsThe problem is you're trying to pass in the reference to firstListItem
as a string.
It's okay for the first 2 lines because they are references to HTML classes and ID's. In order to pass in variables to methods simply pass in the name of the variable.
myList.removeChild(firstListItem);
