Requesting Feedback / Have questions on a few things

So this is my website: http://www.guitarbandits.com/

We are getting feedback that the site is not user friendly. We have a lot of information that we put up and I'm seeing if you guys have any ideas on what I can do to improve the design.

Also, We are wanting to implement an automated battle system which is why I signed up for Treehouse. Hoping to learn enough to be able to implement it myself. What programming will I need to learn to implement a battle system into the site?

Thanks for the feedback!

It took a LONG time to load... didn't spend a lot of time poking around though..

Hosting company forced a transfer on us when blogdroid was bought out. New host is awful. We are actually working on switching it. Other than load time what did you think?

Very heavy on the eyes, there is a lot going on at the same time making it hard to focus. Also there is four bars the log in, the submission, and two menu bars. This makes it hard for users to remember navigation, it would be a lot more user friendly with just two bars. Also a quick fix you might want to look into is the two search fields in the top right corner. Also I notice that there is three areas to log in on just the home page. All these little things add up to make the page too busy for the users, trying removing the log ins in the content area and just have one log in on the top bar, once the user is logged in just have their user name at the top saying logged in as so and so. Also try removing the youtube, facebook, and twitter links in the content area and also adding them into the single top bar on the right side where the search is. It's easy to tell that you are new to this industry but you will get the hang of it. This website will teach you a lot trust me.

Best of luck to you

Thanks for the advice Michael! I agree with these opinions and will work on changing them to see how it is received. The site is growing very quickly with about 15 new members a day so sometimes they can be resistant to change.
