Restoring default PATH value in Ubuntu Console

When I start the console from the video page the default value for the PATH environmental variable has gone and is replaced by a different value. How can I restore the original value of PATH and where can I find the original value?

no help offered but I worked it out in the end. If anyone else suffers with this I had left the comment in my .bashrc file from the console foundation lesson. This meant at start up PATH was set to the folder I had created in my home directory. To undo this I set PATH to /bin and then opened .bashrc with nano and removed the remark I had added. Problem solved!
