I was wondering should I do the Learn Ruby course before starting the Ruby on Rails Track or will the ROR by itself be enough?

8,976 PointsI did the Ruby course first. You learn the language and syntax of Ruby that is needed to code and understand Ruby on Rails. Rails is a framework that includes everything needed to create database-backed web applications according to the Model-View-Controller (MVC) pattern.

Courses Plus Student 9,058 PointsYou do not HAVE to learn ruby to learn ruby on rails, which is part of the beauty of rails, but it's advised that you do because the foundation of ruby will allow you to use a lot more customization, you'll learn about classes, objects, instance variables, loops, procs, etc...that will be invaluable in rails design
