seems like assigning names is more useful.
Why will we ever want to use grid-column-start + end?
I can see end is good for footer to always stick it to the end but I just dont see the benefit to use it anymore as opposed to names and position.

Treehouse TeacherI agree in that following the steps Guil took in this video are easier for me as well and provides a nice visual representation within our code. But there may be cases where one is preferred over the other. You can always check MDN's useful documentation to see different use cases.
