<a>(href=#top)Go back to the top of the page.</a>

Double check the syntax for this. How do you use attributes? Look at your other elements, too:

<img  src="images/spain.jpg" alt="A picture of me in Spain">
<a>(href=#top)Go back to the top of the page.</a>

What's different? Hope this helps and good luck! :)

The href should link to an element with an id. Your code should be as follows:

<!doctype>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>My trip to Spain</title>
  </head>
  <body id = β€œtop”>

    <img  src="images/spain.jpg" alt="A picture of me in Spain">
    <p>Here is a picture of me in Spain last summer!</p>
    <a href=β€œ#top”>Go back to the top of the page.</a>

  </body>
</html>

The value of the id attribute of the element in the section you want to link to must match with the value of the href attribute of the anchor tag.

The id attribute doesn’t have to be on the body tag, it could be as well on a div tag or section tag, or any other element (preferably block level element). Just place the element with the id where you want to link to. For more info, check this stackoverflow question or link
