Setting up Github desktop, can't open with atom

I can't seem to figure out the GIthub Desktop properly. In the video it says open with atom but I'm not able to view that option. It's different from what's shown in the video.

Me too using the Mac version of desktop. There is no atom option and the screens do not match this instruction video.

Hi Kurt Gengenbach. I figured out the reason behind this, the Github desktop in the videos is an older version. While downloading from the page, if you scroll down at the bottom it gives you an option of downloading the older version. Once you do that, everything should work fine.

Sean T. Unwin A lot of students will face this problem now that a new beta version is out. I suggest the video is updated or some instruction is given about how to download the older version.

Thanks Mayank, you are correct. The "current" version appears to be a Beta. I will try the slightly older version.
