Shopping cart, I'm planning to make a website to connect local businesses with customers

I am a beginner in making a website, I have no idea whether this objective I'm looking for is common/easy to do or not...

to include two basic functions:

  1. for customers to add, check out etc.
  2. For local businesses to create their own account and update/add their info/products with just logging into their account online anywhere.

How should I approach this problem?

Thanks for reading my question....Is there any courses on treehouse I can learn to create or pick a shopping cart for my websites?

Or actually...is my problem related to shopping cart? lol

There is a course can help you to create your own e-commercial website... but you need to learn many thing about programming... http://teamtreehouse.com/tracks/php-development If you don't wanna learn a lot of thing about programming... you can try to use some opensource shopping cart such as OpenCart, WooCommerce, Magento,... it's not really hard to use and there are a lot of tutorial, you can find them easily with Google... good luck...
