Should I install linux on my windows 10 machine

I am currently in the Git basics course of the PHP track and am thinking should I install linux (ubuntu) on my machine (windows 10). On the previous course (command prompt) I simply used the console provided but am now thinking maybe having linux installed would be a good idea.

Hi Mayur Pande ,

You can use windows / linux to work on with the Git course on PHP. You can work on any platform that you feel comfortable. If you have not used linux before, it is a nice idea to start now. :)

Some virtual machine applicatins like VMWARE may be good if you don't wan't to install linux directly on your physical machine now.

You can install linux in a virtualbox, which is what I did. I just used the Oracle Virtualbox software to install Linux inside of that.

It allowed me to retain my office, and other software on my work computer, but still give myself a Linux based development environment.

I downloaded VM ware do you recommend virtual box over vm ware?

Just wanted to add my two cents. You can now use the Windows Subsystem for Linux.

Linux on Windows is the official site for more info.
