So if I wanted to build something outside of Workspaces in SublimeText on my mac... how would I install/use Composer?

Running a mac and while following the instructions outside of Workspaces I got lost. I was able to install a Composer Package for Sublime Text, but I didn't know how to run the command Composer Init or really do anything with Composer at that point. In the video you say it is already installed on workspaces, but if someone wanted to develop outside of Workspaces... what would they do to install, set this up, run the init command and utilize composer in general?
