So lost... please help.

What am i doing wrong here? This section is killing me.

"After your newly created returnValue function, create a new variable named echo. Set the value of echo to be the results from calling the returnValue function. When you call the returnValue function, make sure to pass in any string you'd like for the parameter.

The function will accept the string you pass to it and return it back (using the return statement). Then your echo variable will be set with what is returned, the results."

The challenge is actually asking for the variable to be after the function or outside of the function as the next step. You can assign a function as a value for a variable. It should look like this:

var x = myFunction(parameter);

You have the structure correct! Awesome! Now the return just needs a semicolon, myFunction should be the name of the function you created which is returnValue and the parameter given to the function should be written as a string. See below:

function returnValue(anything) { 
  return anything;
} 
var echo = returnValue('anything');
