social network open scource

i have an idea for social network,but i can not write the whole platform, i want to ask every one who knows best open source social network platform is? if i don`t want establish a web one, just a mobile application, it would be easier? for example www.whisper.sh is just work completely with app,sign in with computer is not possible. p.s: i need to have a good pilot and then go for VC money and pitch and ... . you know that. thank you and happy new years, you are a Great start up and Company

Yeah Ruby on Rails is going to be your best bet! and for a mobile application you could use Androids SDK eclipse. Check out the android courses or iOS if you prefer.
