sorry if this is stupid question

Hello is there any software out there that can help me sketch a mock up site for example a client that is not sure what he/she wants, So this could help me and the client sketch it out on the computer rather than paper.

Hi Raymond-

Certainly not a stupid question! Often, designers will mock up site pages in software such as Adobe Photoshop or Indesign. Being free of html, these softwares can be a little easier to generate quick roadmaps for the client to review, and you to eventually translate into code.

There are also WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editors that will allow you to drag and drop content for websites and generate the html for you. While these editors may allow you to quickly generate layouts, I certainly would not recommend using its code, but would advocate using it as a visual roadmap. The html you create will be more flexible and elegant.

I use photoshop for wire framing and prototypes. I used to use Fireworks as it was made for that kind of work, but adobe has stopped improving it.

As mentioned by Joel...there are free online wire framing sites that allow collaboration and viewing.
