Star of Just Lines in Illustrator

Has anyone made a star similar to the top of this wedding invitation in Illustrator? Do you have any suggestions on how I could reproduce this?

It doesn't seem like they just used the star shape and adjusted the points. It also doesn't seem like a starbust that you could make by creating a circle, choosing a dashed line stroke, and setting the weight of the strokes extra thick.

I think I found an answer to my own question on the page below.

Basically, I can use the polar grid tool but set the circles to 0. It will still create an outer circle, but you can ungroup it to delete it.
