still not clear on session.use_trans_sid

Hi,

I know that if you enable "use_trans_sid" then the session id is attached to the URL everytime. Users may send a URL that contains an active session ID to their friends by email or users may save a URL that contains a session ID to their bookmarks and access your site with the same session ID always

Here is my question: 1) if it is insecure in what situation we need to enabled it? 2) How dangerous a user can excess which active session ID? Please explain more. 3) by default is disabled?
