if num % 2==0: print(("{} is even").format(num)) else: print(("{} is odd").format(num)) # Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not. return not num % 2
import random
start = 5
def even_odd(num):
# If % 2 is 0, the number is even.
if num % 2==0:
print(("{} is even").format(num))
else:

# Since 0 is falsey, we have to invert it with not.
return not num % 2
while start == 5:
randnumber = random.randint(1,99)
even_odd(randnumber)

231,269 PointsYou should not modify the provided code.
You are allowed (and expected) to make use of the even_odd function in the code you add, but you should not make any changes to the function itself.

17,948 Pointswhy put it there if they didn't want us to modify it. I still get the same message after resetting the question and not touching the function

17,948 PointsFigured it out after looking at the previous discussions. The function only does what the comments say and not what is written in the question. So i had to write a separate if statement

231,269 PointsThat's right, you do need to write additional code, just not inside the function. Congratulations on completing the challenge.
In general, when code is provided to start with in a challenge, you should only modify it if the instructions say explicitly to do so. Otherwise, your work will be added on.
