Treehouse Moderator 91,253 PointsSVG's with Illustrator
Just a quick question about Illustrator.
After recently taking the SVG course I decided to try and create some in Illustrator. But it wasn't long before I realised I was really out of my depth. I've taken the Illustrator course on Treehouse but I don't really know my way around the program.
Now, I use CS5 rather than CS6 and I'm on Windows 7.
Is it worth me looking for an alternative vector graphics program or is there still life in CS5 for me to spend some time getting to grips with Illustrator?

25,513 PointsI've done that class to I'm surprised that there are any major difference between CC5 and CC6 further more if you are on monthly i thought you could upgrade at any time for free. ?>? if you want to not get adobe cc6 i would recommend getting inkscape, it the leading open source vector program.

I also use CS4 but mostly to designs logos by only using the pen tool and, pathfinder.

I downloaded Inkscape and have had a good play on it for an hour or so. I'm already doing more on it with than I have done recently with Illustrator though I haven't given up on that either.
CS5 goes back years now. I bought the web premium after I finished University but for one reason or the other I haven't had the time or inclination to delve into it.
