Switching from normal subscription to techdegree Javascript Full Stack

Hello people,

Last week I started with a "basic" subscription where I started to work on my coding journey. So far I've completed the introduction of HTML / CSS and the basics of JavaScript.

Now I've decided to take this to the next level and make my subscription into a tech degree subscription. I've got two questions to ask regarding this chance:

  • What are the benefits of changing?
  • How do I make sure that the things I studied, "go with me"? Just so that I don't have to study the same thing twice.

Would love some feedback on this! Thanks in advance ;)

Hi Bart Smolders!

Glad to hear you are considering checking out the Techdegree!

There are quite a few benefits to the Techdegree over a normal Courses or Courses Plus subscription. The biggest is the project and project reviews. Watching lessons is great but the best way to really learn is to build things and that is what the Techdegrees are centered around. Each unit culminates in a project you will build to showcase what you have learned to that point. These projects are individually reviewed against a set grading criteria. There are other benefits like a private Slack from for the TD, Office Hours where you can chat with moderators and other students in real-time, and some exclusive content that isn't available outside of the TD.

As for your progress, anything that you have already completed will be marked as such in your Techdegree track. So you will still be able to see where it is in the curriculum but you won't have to complete it again.

I hope that helps!
