Syntax Error: Invalid syntax

I cannot seem to find the invalid syntax. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

book.py
class Book:
    def __init__(self, author, title):
        self.author = author
        self.title = title

    def __inter__(BookCase)

    def __str__(self):
        return f'{self.author}, {self.title}'
        personal = Book("John Green", "Paper Towns")

    def __eq__(self, other):
        if self.author == other.author and self.title == other.title:
bookcase.py
from book import Book

class BookCase:
    def __iter__(self):
        pass
    def __inter__(self):
       self.books = []

    def add_books(self, book):
        self.books.append(book)

I see three syntax errors at first glance:

  • the def line for "__inter__" doesn't end with a colon
  • the "__inter__" method has no body
  • the last line is a conditional ("if") but there is no code following it for it to control
