i have syntax errors with my getter methods

In User.java your two getters are designed to return a String, you are not returning anything in the above code. Is that where your error is occurring?

Right. I don't see where you are returning either of those values. You are printing them, but not returning them.

Treehouse Teacher1) I edited your latest User.java for markdown.
2) That looks quite a bit different than what you originally posted for User.java.
3) In your getter methods, shouldn't you be returning member variables? firstName and lastName are unknown in those methods (out of scope), thus the errors.
Post back if you are still stuck.
