The best way to learn Facebook's Graph API?

I develop Wordpress websites, but most of my clients like to add events on Facebook—they don't want to have to add them through Wordpress.

I'd like to pull data from their Facebook events via the Graph API (ex. Event Title, Cover Photo, and Date), but I'm having a tough time figuring out how to use the API. Facebook's Documentation is really overwhelming.

Does anyone know of a beginner tutorial or course that might be helpful?
