The error says 'add' returned the wrong result. Why? My code says def add(a,b): float(a) float(b) return a+b

I tested it in workspaces and it works...?

trial.py
def add(a, b):
    float(a)
    float(b)
    return a+b

Try 'return float(a) + float(b)' or 'return float(a + b)'

:warning: Be cautious of testing challenges in workspaces or other REPL's.

If you have misunderstood the requirements, you are also likely to misinterpret the results.

As Tim suggested, you need to use the values returned by float. It has no effect on the argument when used by itself.
