The preview shows the string exactly, but I keep getting an error that says $fullName should equal Rasmus Lerdorf.

What am I missing??

You're changing the variable in the 4th sentence. Try echo $fullname and the rest of the string.

The test script is checking the $fullname variable, which you've set, and then re-set to something other than just the first and last name. Rather do something like:

    <?php
      $fullName = "$firstName  $lastName";
      echo $fullName . ' was the original creator of PHP.' . "\n";
    ?>

This will make it more clear what the variable contains, as well as fix the error.
