Java Java Objects (Retired) Creating the MVP Comparing Characters

Totally stuck on what to do for getLineFor challenge

Hi,

I am working on chars and using a getLineFor method. I am supposed to send lastNames with the letters A-M to line 1. All other last names go to line 2. Here is the code I have been given to work with. I really don't know where to start on fixing the getLineFor method. Thanks for the help!

ConferenceRegistrationAssistant.java
public class ConferenceRegistrationAssistant {

  public int getLineFor(String lastName) {
    /* If the last name is between A thru M send them to line 1
       Otherwise send them to line 2 */
    int line = 0;
    return line;
  }

}

Your are provided the lastName, which is a String. The String class has a metric truckload of member functions which you can use to determine information about or manipulate a String. Try to find a member function in the String class which would determine the first letter in lastName. From there you would know which line to send them to. Something like lastName.memberFunction().

            return line = 1;
     }else {
           return line = 2;
