Track Update = Lost material

Hi, after updating my Track in Front End Development my current lessons are overwrited with new materials such as "Introduction to HTML" which i have finished already. It happened after Updating my Track. I don't think its necessary for me to do it again and Introduce me to HTML which is 3 hours. The problem is if i don't my Track won't be completed.

Hi there Lukasz,

I believe what's happened here is you've updated the track and it'd come up with HTML Basics as an addition to the introductory course. I highly encourage you to continue with the course, although you don't have to., I'll explain why in a moment.

Tracks are a sequential set of course that each build upon each other in terms of difficulty and knowledge, and at times are prerequisites to another course. But if you don't want to wait to do a particular course, you can find it in the Treehouse Library.

The Introduction to HTML and CSS course is a very high-level introduction to the 2 courses and doesn't cover everything of each. It's designed to give you a brief overview so you're not hit too much in the next course. HTML Basics is much more detailed and you'll gain all you need to know to make a website in pure HTML. You'll then of course move on to a more detailed course on CSS, there's a wealth of course out there to teach you all you need to know.

Stick at it. Doing both the courses will do you the power of good, I promise! :-)

I got hit with this. Took the intro to html and then updated the track. All of a sudden the html basics, css basics, and JavaScript basics took its place. Trust me intro to HTML is just a dip your toes course. The stuff that replaced it is MUCH updated and MUCH MUCH better. Really it was a change that should have been made a year ago. Keep going, you will learn the current best practice for doing things in the newer classes.
