trying to answer question 2 with "return text.test(hexRegEx);" isn't working pls help.

this is stopping me from moving onto the next section

You're close, but have the calling syntax reversed. The method should be called on the regex variable, and the string should be passed as the argument:

     return hexRegEx.test(text);
