Trying to use ctrl z in OSX terminal and it's not working. Is there an equivalent for OSX or is it user error?

Thanks in advance!

If you are referring to using ctrl- z with nano I found that nano blocks the command. However if you start up nano with the flag -z then ctrl z works . Try using ctrl z in a different program like top and it should work no problem.
