Un-initialized Strings vs Empty quotations in the contructer.

In the hangman game file we set String mMisses and String mHits

whats the purpose of putting the mHits/mMisses = "";

can't we use them when declared them in the beginning of the class?

It is needed because later we wil execute the following:

mHits += letter;

if you leave String mHits; without String mHits = "". Your String will be uninialized or null

And because of that you cannot write mHits += letter.

Does it make sense now ?
