Python Object-Oriented Python Instant Objects Your first method

Using Self in Class

I'm getting the 'You forgot the self argument in your praise method' error but I don't know what's wrong because 'self' is right there in the definition for 'praise'.

first_class.py
class Student:
    name = "Glen Coco"

    def praise(self):
        return("You go, {}!".format(Student.name()))

My daughter loves the Mean Girls reference!!

You need self.name not Student.name. And no parentheses after name. It's not a method but an attribute of the class.

return("You go, {}!".format(self.name))
