When I pause the video for a minute, and resume the video sometime it has a spike up in volume but the volume meter stays the same. Is this a tactic of teamtreehouse to get me to stay up later and cram more information into my cranium?

231,110 PointsI haven't seen that one myself, but while the forum is a great place to get help from other students, it may not be the most expedient (or even certain) way to contact the staff.
You might want to also report the issue directly to the staff as described on the Support page.
