JavaScript Fixing Our Problem with Closures

VM660:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: makeCounter is not defined at <anonymous>:1:18

I get the error on console... here is my code:

function makeCounter(noun) {
  var count = 0;
  return function() {
    count += 1;
    return count + ' ' + noun; 
  }
}

and here is the instructor code:

function makeCounter(noun) {
  var count = 0;
  return function(){
    count += 1;
    return count + ' ' + noun;
  }
}

why does his work and not mine?
