Web developer resume

I'm feeling pretty confident on my skills so I want to apply to a front end position. I'm struggling with my resume though. Does anyone here have a good template or tips on how to build a good one?

To be honest resume writing involves a lot of concepts to be put into thoughts. After studying several resume courses since I was trying to improve mine without having to pay someone for it, (there are some resume writers that are very cheap though I found that rather late, but that is another route you might like to consider if you don't want to do it on your own), there are some key elements I figured out and i'd share those with you. It's not everything you will have to keep in mind but the top are:

  1. Know the company you are applying to and see which values of yours relates to theirs. Make it evident in your resume.
  2. Know what they are asking for and try to prove why you are the best fit for them through your accomplishments
  3. Make sure it is visually user friendly, HR read several resumes and something that is not easy on the eye might make them have a bad experience reading it and that might not be good for you.
  4. Make sure there are no typos or grammar errors. Sadly some companies reject some resumes from a single typo (remember...if your job asks for excellent communication skills having a typo can make someone feel that your skills in that area are not excellent enough.)
  5. Try to show your best work

Now let me go to the look of the template.

  1. Know the type of company you are applying to. If it is a corporate type of company you'll like it to have a serious tone. If it is a smaller start up, it can have in some graphics and little visuals or colors. It all depends to the type of company you are applying to.
  2. Select the best template for the type of job you'll be doing. If you are going to be a front - end web developer, you might like to make your resume more appealing to the eye and more creative. If you are going to be a back - end, you might like to reserve too many visuals and instead make it look very well constructed with minimal design.

These are my suggestions for you, there are more things you can look into but these are some of the most important things to know in my opinion.
