Web Development

Hi, I joined treehouse a couple of months ago and started with front end web development and still learning. Then I jumped into Full stack JavaScript track and stopped at JavaScript basics. Well, I want o be a full stack JavaScript Developer but for some reasons, I feel like I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere. I have a basics of html and css and so should I go ahead with full stack JavaScript or go back to front end web development first? Please help!

Thank you.

Hey Diba,

There's no right answer when it comes to selecting a first language to learn. Some people like to begin with HTML and CSS so they start to develop the basics for front end development while others would prefer to wire the back end. Having knowledge of both will certainly aid the other but it is ultimately up to you to decide which route makes the most sense for you.

If you're keen on becoming a FSJS developer, keep going with JavaScript. Start with our Beginner JS track then hop into FSJS when you're ready.

Coding, like any other skill, takes time, effort, and resilience. What you feel, being stuck or lost, is very common among those learning how to program. Repetition and patience, learning from your mistakes, will all aid you in your journey.

Thanks, we wish you the best!
