General Discussion

Website builder or learn how to make a website yourself?

I'm currently starting up my own company and I would like to make a professional website for the company.

Would you recommend a website builder like www.wix.com? Or is it better to learn at TreeHouse how to make a website myself? If so, which course/courses should I take to learn how to make a professional website?

Thanks for the help!

I would say it depends. Do you get satisfaction out of creating something out nothing? Wix does have limits to where if you are willing to put in the work to learn how to make your own website the possibilities are endless. Me personally I don't like website building sites and ever since I have started to learn to code I fall deeper in love with it every day, it's challenging and the littlest thing can ruin the whole code. But it's so rewarding to build and create, plus it can't hurt to learn this technology now with the way the world is transitioning to more and more technology!

P.S Check out some of the business tracks in the Treehouse library! They are very informative, that's another plus of being a Treehouse member!

Thank you for your advice, it's really helpful!
