25,278 PointsIf you are new, and have no idea where to start coding, most people start with the Front-End Web development track. You learn all the basic skills to do most other tracks and you learn 3 great beginner languages such as HTML, CSS, and Javascript. After that, getting started in any of the other tracks becomes a lot simpler. As for the OS issues there won't be much. Simple text editors and workspaces work the same for all OS's but when it comes time to learning Git, Linux for the Console emulator that treehouse provides will be your best options.
If you ever get confused by something don't forget to ask plenty of questions as we are all here to learn. Good Luck!
