What programming language was used to make teamtreehouse? & Why?

Apologies for the bad english (using translator) and for being a question more of curiosity than of learning to program

Since I am currently learning to program in order to be able to create web applications. I would like to know in which programming language (or languages) this website was made and why was that language chosen?

Treehouse actually used lots of languages.

I bet it was made in:

  • Python
  • Ruby
  • JavaScript
  • Maybe Java
  • HTML
  • CSS

Anyway, if you want to learn to make websites, I recommend starting with HTML/CSS/JS aka front-end.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it php?

ruby on rails, I think....
