What year were these videos posted? How do we know the information is still relevant?

Hi, it appears this video was made in 2014, when, among other things, since we can see the date at the top of one of the web pages he shows us, and the CSS WebPlatform Project he points us to was discontinued in 2015. So when Guil says "we're going to look at the latest CSS developments", how 'latest' are they really? Aren't there any new updated videos? Most importantly, are the video lessons in the expensive TechDegree program more updated than these? Anybody know?

A fair concern! Luckily, the Treehouse team frequently updates videos and learning tracks to address the latest trends, so if you're watching a video, it is most likely reviewing a relevant and important skill. If there's a minor update to content, you can sometimes find new links in the "Teacher's Notes" section. If it's a major update, they'll release a new video to replace the old one.

The web is always changing, so it is tough to find current resources. Treehouse is a reliable place to find the latest training material on new skills required in the industry.

Regarding the TechDegree: You watch videos like what you've already seen, but you also participate in coding projects that test all manner of skills, and also have access to a Slack community for all the latest in development trends.

i get your point and i don't know about the tech degree, but if you're going to watch the CSS BASICS video series , i suggest you to go for it, because no matter what, the basics are always the same and Guil covers that very well ( like other courses that he has ) . so give it a try . i did it in 2017 and it worked for me very well .

Thanks. Yes, Guil covers it very well. I'm just a bit concerned that the videos are 4 years old... That's like a lifetime in web development, isn't it?? ;-)
