When he is changing the padding, what exactly is the "a" for?

Hi there! The "a" refers to the anchor tags or <a> (otherwise known as links) in the HTML. So all links (anchor tags) inside the "name" class and all links (anchor tags) inside the "main-nav" class.

:point_right: In HTML, an a element is often used for links.

So Guil is simply modifying the padding of all links that have the class of .name or .main-nav.
