When would it be a good time to upgrade to a tech degre?

Hello everybody,

I know my way around a computer, but coding/creating is not something I've ever done. I'd like to one day have a job as a software or web developer. I was wondering if jumping into a tech degree program would be a good idea, or if staying under a pro account and completing tracks before jumping into a tech degree program would be better.

If completing some tracks first would be the better idea, at what point would you guys recommend an upgrade to a tech degree program?

Hmmm, personally I think this is a decision only you can make.

In terms of curriculum the Tech degree is made up of content that you'll find in the Treehouse library but of course the workshops and custom projects are specific to the tech degree as well as the final exam. Having never taken the techdegree I can only guess impact it'll have on you but I can't believe that the TDD is exclusive to the most confident of coders.

But you can always use the library and tracks whether you enrol on a tech degree or not. You may wish to take a few courses before you decide Treehouse is the place to earn an online degree. Here's hoping you do of course :)

I won't state what's already been stated by Jonathan, but have you had an opportunity to hop onto the 7 day free trial for the Techdegree of your choosing?

If not, hop on over to your enrollment page and select the Techdegree trial and check it out for yourself when you have the time. :)

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll check out the 7 day trial when i have the time to actually do 7 productive days worth of learning! For now I'll keep completing tracks.
